Devki Steel Palletisation Plant
Kenya
Scale
KSh 799,000,000
Status
Ongoing
Devki Steel Mills engaged Civicrete to provide design and construction supervision services for their new palletisation plant — a strategic expansion of one of Kenya's largest steel manufacturing operations. Civicrete's scope covers the full structural design package including process equipment foundations designed for heavy dynamic loads, structural steel framing, overhead crane runway beams, and all ancillary civil structures. The project is being executed on a consulting basis and represents a significant industrial engineering mandate that demonstrates Civicrete's capability in heavy industrial plant design.
Heavy Overhead Crane Loads
Crane runway beams supporting high-capacity overhead cranes required detailed fatigue analysis under BS EN 1993 to ensure adequate service life under repeated crane travel and lifting cycles.
Dynamic Equipment Foundations
Palletisation machinery generates complex vibration profiles. Foundation design required tuning of natural frequencies to avoid resonance with equipment operating speeds.
Industrial Programme Pressure
Steel production schedules are commercially critical. Civicrete's phased design delivery strategy enabled early civil works to begin while detailed structural design of later phases continued in parallel.
